Halls of IvyYoung Beautician of the Year 2010 2nd Place

It gives us great pleasure to announce that one of our team Heather Martin, who many of you will know from training at the academy, has achieved a 2nd place in the BBC Three search to find the UK’s top Young Talent of the Year.
She was one of four finalists to be selected out of hundreds of professionals who were all vying to be the BBC Three Top Beautician of the Year.
‘Young Talent of the Year’ is a BBC Three series that celebrates the unsung heroes of Britain and puts the spotlight on the dedicated young professionals who have devoted years to perfecting their craft. Producers say the aim of the series is to celebrate people in jobs that never see the limelight. There are talent shows for dancers, singers and entertainers, but people who are hairdressers, butchers, fishmongers, beauticians or plumbers rarely get their skills recognised.
In the final, she faced a series of tough challenges designed to push her professional skills to the limit, with her every move scrutinised by the expert judges.
