The VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement is a practical-based qualification intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment, and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace (i.e. workshop, classroom or other training environment).
This qualification is designed to equip a wide range of teachers, trainers and facilitators with the underpinning skills and knowledge to enable them to assess effectively.
This qualification provides an introduction to assessing and is suitable for those who are new to or wish to start assessing in their own field of experience.
This qualification provides progression opportunities into employment as an assessor of occupational competence in the workplace and vocationally related achievement in non-work environments.
One of the main benefits of completing this award is that it provides a 'threshold license to practice', a requirement within current legislation for all those teaching/training within the Learning and Skills Sector.
This award will enable you to work in a teaching function and progress on to a broader teaching qualification. This award has and continues to be a mandatory requirement for any new teacher/trainer who teaches on publicly funded provision and must be completed within the first 12 months of employment.
Depends on experience and time commitment
Once you have completed this course you will be prepared to teach adults in your chosen field. It can also come in as an excellent qualification for youth work or anyone providing training and support to others. This can also lead onto Level 5 Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) at the college.
