What can you expect from our Information, Advice & Guidance Offer
We will clearly advertise our Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) service so that learners and employers understand what support is available and how to access it, including displaying our Service Offer within centres and on our website.
We will provide structured IAG at key stages of the learner journey, including pre-entry, induction, on-programme reviews, gateway preparation and exit.
Our IAG service will be delivered in a supportive, confidential and professional manner and is free of charge to learners and employers.
Our IAG service will be impartial and objective. We will present a range of progression pathways and, where appropriate, signpost to alternative providers or external services to ensure decisions are made in the best interests of the individual.
IAG will be delivered by appropriately trained, qualified and competent staff who undertake continuous professional development to maintain up-to-date industry and labour market knowledge.
All information provided, including digital resources, will be accurate, current and informed by labour market intelligence.
IAG will be accessible and inclusive, delivered in formats that meet individual needs, including adaptations for learners with additional learning needs or disabilities.
The IAG service will be available face-to-face in centres and workplaces, remotely, by telephone and online to ensure equitable access.
Where specialist support is required, we will refer or signpost to appropriate and reputable external organisations, including national careers services and industry bodies.
Guidance discussions and agreed actions will be recorded, monitored and reviewed to support progression and continuous improvement.
The IAG service will be quality assured through learner and employer feedback, observation of practice, review of destination data and annual self-assessment to ensure it remains effective and impactful.
