Course Information
Academic and practical training in Foundation Botulinum Toxin. Including, anatomy and physiology of the face, consultation, prescribing, pharmacy, product choice, reconstitution, administration, and injection techniques. Also included is training on complications, now to avoid, recognise and respond. Agenda 08:45am – Registration 9:00am – Interactive lecture covering – Introduction & History -Statistics of Aesthetics -Aetiology of Aging Face -Pharmacology & Physiology of Botulinum Toxin -Functional & Practical Anatomy -How to assess the face and choose the most effective dose and injection location -Prescribing and pharmacy -Storage, Handling & Dilution -Indications, Contraindications & Complications -Treatment of Upper Face -Adjunctive Treatments -Aseptic technique -Client Education/Client Safety -Informed consent & Realistic Expectations and refusing to treat clients if not in their best interest. -Recognising and responding to complications -Patient follow up and evaluation -Reporting of adverse events 11.30 – Infection control workshop, covering aseptic and clean technique. 12:30pm – Lunch 13:00 pm – Practical hands-on session under the supervision and guidance of expert trainers, delegates will gain experience with injecting botulinum toxin Injections for crow’s feet, glabellar and frontalis. Minimum of 6 models for each delegate to treat under supervision. Delegates will be assessed on the following competencies. -History taking -Physical examination skills/clinical judgement -Demonstrates understanding of indications for treatment, A&P, procedural technique -Obtains informed consent -Demonstrates appropriate preoperative preparation -Offers/applies appropriate analgesics -Demonstrates safe delivery of proposed procedure -Technical ability -Aseptic technique -Post procedure management -Communication skills -Professionalism -Overall ability to perform the procedure competently On successful completion of the course you will receive a CPD certificate which is recognised by all major insurance companies in the industry allowing you to go straight out and practice the new techniques learned. All Delegates will receive a handout pack including anatomy diagrams and aseptic technique/infection control information vital to client safety. CPD hours 6 hours practical 8 hours theory Requirements- Must hold an NVQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy including A&P unit or be medically training.
